As I start The next phase of my journey, I’m reminded of what I have gone through (so far) 16 cycles of chemotherapy. And what is still left to come (surgery) & after recovery daily week of radiation. 5 years herceptin.
My favorite scripture says it best: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11-NIV)
I have been recovering slowly from chemo. I can’t believe how tired I have been, but I am feeling stronger each day. I had my pre-op appointment and everything is good to go. MRI scan was done. I also have another appointment Feb 12, at the Genetics clinic. Finally get to hear what the results are. On sunday I went to meet with Dr. Fleiszer to discuss my options and what's best for me. He explained everything very well. I want to mention how great Dr. Fleiszer is. He is Soft spoken, gentle and very caring. He will perform the operation which I'm happy with. I have two options which are a partial mastectomy or a total mastectomy. I have a tough decision to make before surgery. I'm nervous but looking forward to the next step. The surgery is scheduled on Feb,13. Wow, time is going fast and I am ready to be on the other side of surgery. If you are wondering what the above picture is about?!? I call it my "Doctors Art" hehe..it is pretty much an explanation he did for me on paper. It has a meaning to me So i will have it framed and hang on my wall as a reminder of my journey :-)
I will finish off by sending some shout outs to the important people in my life:
First, to my fiancé Titus, he has been my rock throughout this entire journey. He has remained by my side and would constantly tell me he still loved me when I was bald and when i felt and looked horrible from the chemotherapy. I am blessed to have him in my life.
Second, a special shout out to Lionel and Tyrell, my kids, my boys. They have grown up a lot these past months and have learned to have cancer as part of their vocabulary and life. They are open with me about their thoughts and concerns..and sometimes help around the house. They continue to give me hugs and kisses and tell me how much I am loved.
Third, I would like to send a huge thank you to my mother and Titus' parents. They were and continue to be always available when I need help. Love to all!!
Fourth, I would like to thank family and friends who have reached out to me, I could not have made it this far without your love and support.
Until then, thank you for all your prayers and support! ✌❤
