Here's another rambling medically induced update:
So far so good, i'm tolerating chemo pretty well. I've been a little tired here and there throughout the last couple days. Doctor increased neupogen from 5 to 8 injections since my WBC was so low last chemo. I inject myself every other week for 8 days after treatment. I get the worst bone and joint pain. Hot flashes feel like I was dipped in hot lava at any time of day without notice. I would be walking through Wal-Mart and just start getting hot. The night time ones are horrible. I go to sleep nice and comfy and wake up all hot and sticky. I would get up to turn the ac up, Titus and the boys would pile on their blankets and I would still be hot.
It’s funny to me imagining this army surging through my veins killing everything in sight. CHARGE!! FIGHT! FIGHT! My cells are waring! The good cells, the bad cells, the stupid cancer cells…everything must go! *yes, that’s my vivid imagination* …haha weird I know!
I love being in my bed, under the fan, with minimal clothing, drinking ice cold water, letting the time go by. But my medical team does not suggest laying down all day long (during my chemo recovery period)…darn! I have to move from time to time by shaking my legs to make the achey feeling go away.
I think the anti-nausea meds are helping me. I'm glad that I haven’t really felt sick to my stomach. My body is on this up and down cycle, feeling sensations that are hard to describe. I do my best to rebuild my strength and stamina and keep my spirits high and hopeful, sprinkled with some humor as well!!
My symptoms may be different as time goes on…but I hope my side effects are minimal.
Thanks for reading, peace & love!!
6 more cycles to go…
